For black and white images I usually use a rather old Zenit TTL 35mm with a standard lens and on occasion a Vivitar 500mm fixed aperture (f/8) mirror lens with a 2x converter for extra length. The Zenit produces some lovely dense negatives for a rather moody image. It is that basic that I don’t mind taking it on to the beach and getting it dirty. I have had this camera for about 20 years now and it still remains my favourite.

Ilford films are lovely to use, however the Island being as it is means you can not get anything less than 7 day processing on true black and white so I tend to use XP2 films as they are developed using the C-41 process. My other camera is a Canon EOS300 with a 28-80mm lens and a 75-300mm lens. I like to use this camera for fast moving things as it has auto focus and aperture if you are feeling very lazy or a bit slow on a Sunday morning. I like to use Kodak Gold 200 most of the time, although on really sunny days 100 is better.
